Let’s face it, they don’t call Virginia the place for lovers for nothing! It’s gorgeous! We want to share some fun day trips from The Reserve to make the most of your weekends while here! College isn’t always about school work, take a much-needed break and experience all Virginia has to offer.
So, let’s just make a list; no particular order.
-
King’s Dominion: Alright, so this might not be the most relaxing of day trips, and if you are scared of rollercoasters, I’d skip this. But boy is it fun! Take a short little day trip to one of the best amusement parks on the East Coast!
-
It’s Fall y’all! Virginia is home to some of the most beautiful farms and orchards in the Nation. So, grab your friends or a good book and head to one of the many apple orchards/pumpkin patches close to home. We recommend taking a drive to the Peaks of Otter and stopping at all the little farms along the way. You really can’t go wrong with any of them!
-
Farmville: Okay, so Farmville in and of itself is a cute little historic town, but add in the massive furniture warehouses and you have a day trip of any home décor addicts dream! With over 10 warehouses of Furniture and home décor, Green Front is a day trip worth taking. Stop and grab some lunch at one of the cute little restaurants in the historic part of town or a cup of coffee at the little bakeries dotted between in shops!

Last but certainly not least; High Bridge Trail. There are many hikes close to us here at The Reserve. But, High Bridge is just absolutely gorgeous. Especially in the Fall with all the leaves changing. Just do us a favor and give it a shot!
